AE25225 Intermediate Thermodynamics
Intermediate thermodynamics is a third-year undergraduate course explaining in more detail gas and liquid physics. Topics include the origin and the application of the ideal and non-ideal equations of state, the first and second law of thermo, the energy conservation equation in control-volume form, the isentropic relation for gases, the Maxwell relations, the mixtures of gases, and the chemical reactions within a gas mixture. Example engineering problems include the analysis of pressurized tanks, air conditioners, and combustors.
